Natural Remedies for Conjunctivitis

Apis

Red, stinging, puffy eyes. Eyes watering with hot tears. Painful. Better for cold applications.

Arg-Nit

Eyes inflamed and red. Eyelids glued together. Sensitivity to light. Lots of smelly yellow discharge.

Arsenicum

Eyes burning. Bloodshot, sensitive to light, and BURNING.

Belladonna

Eyes very inflamed, red and dry. Pupils dilated. Sensitive to light.

Euphrasia

Great remedy for any eye complaint. Eyes burning, swollen and irritated. Lots and lots of blinking. Eyes watering constantly, burning the outer skin. Feeling of sand in eyes. Pus in eyes.

Pulsatilla

One of the first remedies for Conjunctivitis. Eyes sore, aching, itchy and red. Discharge thick and yellow (Important – does NOT burn the outer skin). Eyelids glued together. The Pulsatilla picture may be seen – clingy and whinging.

Sulphur

HOT, painful, red, irritated, burning eyes. Feeling of sand or grit in eyes. Itchy. Washing eyes irritates them more. That feeling of HEAT is key for Sulphur.

These are just a few remedies which can be used for acute home prescribing. If these remedies are not helping, then you will have to look at other remedies (there are many!) and choose a remedy that is most suitable to the individual. Having an experienced homeopath to call upon for advice is advisable.
